Tokyo Ghoul :re Season 2 Episode 2 Review

WATCH EPISODE 2 Before I watched the episodes I couldn't help but notice how so many people were hating on it. Manga readers of course, the number was alarming. But upon watching the episode I find myself in a position where I must disagree. One of the things that received the most hate was indeed the fight between Arima and Kaneki. So far I don't think Studio Pierrot has been able to animate a fight decently in the Tokyo Ghoul franchise since the Kaneki VS Jason finale. But this, this very fight was animated way better than I had expected. The animation was much more continuous and alive than other fights we've seen in the previous season, as it should. It could have done much worse, it's not perfect but it's the infamous fight everyone. As for the rest, it's been a while since I've read the Manga and because of this I haven't noticed if something was left out or not. Overall it seemed very canon to the Manga. Plot aside, let's talk abou

Tokyo Ghoul :re Part 2 Opening Review

We're back at it again with the first episode of the second part of the Tokyo Ghoul :re Anime, which so far, has given few disappointments overall. Except that the first episode was a bit rushed but we are not here to talk about that now, right? The opening was probably the thing I was most looking forward to for. MUSIC The song itself sound amazing. I haven't looked into the Lyrics yet but will soon enough and will write a review on those as well, but the voice of TK really is at its best in this song. Background work fits wonderfully as well. VISUALS Those, those could have been a lot better. Not much was shown in the opening as far as characters go, not even the most key ones. Only the old Anteiku team was featured for whatever reason, with no exceptions but for Rize. Still the visuals are amazing. I'm not a fan of the last shot on the latest version of Kaneki but overall the mood of the song is, not as good as Unravel, but very well done and animated. Overall a

Tokyo Ghoul :re - Information, Release Date

Release Date: 9 October, 2018 I'm aware of how late I am to discuss this topic but I'll just throw my opinion right here. The Anime will feature 12 episodes which will adapt 120 chapters of the Manga which hints that many arcs are going to be cut out. Do not expect anything particularly great from this season and if you've read the manga it might disappoint you. The artstyle looks rather bland, I only hope it won't be as static as it was in Tokyo Ghoul :re 's first season but that's probably the case. Fights weren't animated too well and there were very few. The season might still be decent but hopes are very low. Release date is written above, Thanks for reading.

Tokyo Ghoul :re Call to E[X]ist trailer review / impressions.

Image
I was not expecting this to happen anytime soon but what moment's better than after the ending of the Manga? Apparently yesterday a Tokyo Ghoul :re game was announced by Bandai Namco, and will be available "soon" for PC and PS4, XBOX One wasn't mentioned. You can watch the trailer here: IMPRESSIONS My impressions are not the most positive. From what I've seen, the game appears to be an hack-n-slash type of game, much like Devil May Cry. The game doesn't look particularly great, even though it's hard to tell since the screen is covered in special effects, which hide most of the action and graphics. The trailer essentially shows Kaneki breaking in Cochlea in his Aogiri suit, though we also get a glance at Haise Sasaki and Yamori, suggesting that the game will probably have a storyline where sadly Root A is canon. One thing I've noticed is that Kaneki seems to be fighting Yamori in his Kakuja form in Cochlea, which is quite odd since we see ima

Black Reaper - Tokyo Ghoul :re Episode 12 Review

Image
WATCH EPISODE 12 What a run and beautiful series we had. Sadly, the time has come, the time where I review its last episode. Nothing to fear, though, the premiere for the Second Season of Tokyo Ghoul :re is rumored to happen in October of this Very Year. Anyways, let's get back to this episode. I have some complaints, like many others, I believe certain scenes didn't have an equal impact than they had in the Manga. Can I let that slide? Partially. The scenes were still well drawn, well Animates, the text was similar if not the exact same, so what's wrong with them? Hard to explain. In the Manga they simply looked cooler I'm guessing. The fight between Kaneki and Eto was wonderful. I expected it to be carried by Asphyxia in all honesty, but sadly, it wasn't the case and that's probably for the better. It was well Animates, no important scenes were skipped. Shirazu's death was well made, his Kagune looked a bit weird I have to say, and Noro

Tokyo Ghoul :re Episode 10 Review

Image
WATCH EPISODE 10 First of all, I apologize for not reviewing Episode 9, but I thought there was not much to talk about and my reviews would become too repetitive. But this episode, this episode has a lot of stuff to talk about. The Rosewald Arc is likely going to close in the next 2 episodes, the episode to come will surely be focused on Hairu and later on Kaneki VS Kanae and Eto. Seeing how quickly this series is proceeding, I'd not be surprised if we got to take a glance at the Black Reaper before episode 12. Really looking forward to that. I'm really pleased by this episode. We got a nice flashback from Tsukiyama which ultimately confirms that this Anime if not a sequel to Root A, even thought in certain flashbacks Kaneki is, for some reason, wearing his Aogiri Tree suit. Not that it matters at this point. The scene where Kanae is tortured by Eto was included at the end, I was afraid they'd skip it because of the level of violence it has, but thankfully it w

Tokyo Ghoul :re Episode 8 Review

WATCH EPISODE 8 Yet another solid episode, what can I say. While the sound-track is becoming a little repetitive, it's still very good. The introduction of new characters was also well done, and it was animated particularly well. Kanae's flashback was also very well done, even thought Trukiyama looked a little bit dull in it, I guess his suit wasn't of the best colors back then. I don't know why I felt I had to mention such thing, but moving on, there's one thing this Anime is focusing on that I might actually like, that being the relationship between Ayato and Hinami. Also worth mentioning how different Ayato looks in the Flashback, he looks nothing alike his TG Season 1 counterpart. I am agreeing a lot with the panels the Anime decided to adapt and cut. So far it has been focusing on what's important, the relationship between Shirazu and Nutcracker (as a Quinque) is a good example for this. And Mutsuki's gender is constantly being hinted to be Fe
